LifeLore ("we," "our," or "us") operates the LifeLore application. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information when you use our service.

Information We Collect

When you use LifeLore, we collect the following types of information:

• Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
• Recordings: Video and audio recordings ("Echoes") that you create within the app. These are stored securely on our servers.
• Content metadata: Titles, descriptions, and prompts associated with your recordings and collections ("Lores").
• Usage data: Basic analytics about how you interact with the app, such as feature usage and session duration.
• Device information: Browser type, operating system, and device identifiers necessary for app functionality.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the LifeLore service
• Store and sync your recordings across devices
• Authenticate your account and protect your data
• Send transactional emails (such as password resets)
• Generate AI-assisted interview questions when you use the Ask Assist feature

AI Features

LifeLore includes an optional "Ask Assist" feature that uses AI to generate interview questions. When you use this feature:

• We send the relationship type and topic context to our AI provider to generate relevant questions.
• We do not send your actual recordings or their content to any AI provider.
• AI-generated questions are cached locally and on our servers as part of your interview plan.

Data Storage and Security

Your recordings and data are stored using Supabase, a secure cloud platform. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to your data is protected by authentication and row-level security policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with:

• Service providers: Third-party services that help us operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting, email delivery).
• Public content: If you choose to make a Reel public, that content and its associated metadata will be accessible via a shareable link.
• Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our rights.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
• Delete: Request permanent deletion of your account and data. You can initiate this from within the app via Settings > Delete Account.
• Export: Request an export of your recordings and associated data.
• Withdraw consent: Stop using the service at any time by signing out or deleting your account.

Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

LifeLore is intended for general audiences. If you are under 13 years of age, a parent or guardian must provide verifiable consent before you can use the service. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date.
